@Sum: You're not alone - there are a number of folks out there wondering the same thing. My intent here is to discover what makes the Tassimo "tick", and how to tinker with the programs of beverages to "tweak" them better.
For example, the Suchard's Hot Chocolate is (at least with my friends and colleagues) universally disdained for not brewing correctly - with a little tweaking, maybe this can improve.
I don't think it too far off to create a reloadable T-DISC, but there's a range of challenges there as its a tiny marvel of engineering itself.
With respect to your coffee woes, I can suggest a couple of online vendors who are quite competitive with their selection and pricing:
